For centuries, Indians have been connected through culture and traditions. The culture has nurtured the principles of truth, justice, love, and good conduct. The Shiv Puran is one of eighteen genres of Sanskrit texts in Hinduism, part of the Shaivism literature corpus that primarily centers around the Hindu gods Shiva and Parvati while referencing and revering all gods. This text was written by Rishi Ved Vyas and consists of 24,000 Shlokas in 7 Samhitas.
The profound values and traditions of Indian culture can be experienced through studying Vedas, Upanishads, and Puranas. These texts play a significant role in preserving the foundational principles and values that shape our day-to-day conduct, thoughts, and beliefs. Puranas are as vital as Vedas in enabling a wider audience to grasp the divine knowledge explained within them.
Shiva Puran imparts knowledge about various stories related to Lord Shiva:
